The Kosice self-governing region and the British Council Centre in Kosice advertised the "Treasures of my region" or "Worth seeing in my town, village, region..." competition.
"We want to motivate and encourage students of secondary schools to present worth and attractions of the Kosice self-governing region creatively, to find out what appeals to their age group in Britain. The aim is to attract young people to know their region better, to be able to present it in attractive way abroad and to encourage them to improve their language and communication skills in English," said Rudolf Bauer, president of KSR.
Students from 96 secondary schools under the competence of KSR and 17 private secondary schools will be involved. The first run (district level) will be organized in April. Winners will promote to the regional final, which will be held in May.
Project is equally sponsored by the Kosice self-governing region and the British Council by the sum of 150 000 Sk.
