Mr. Rudolf Bauer, President of the Kosice Self-governing Region, received a group of young Israeli people, who are engaged in politics and work in the state administration and self-government. Young people from Czech Republic and Slovakia were also part of delegation, which visited Kosice region as part of their study stay in Europe and Slovakia.
In informal and lively discussion guests were interested in topics such as extremism, racism and xenophobia. Rudolf Bauer answered also many questions concerning the region. He elucidated its historical and natural wealth, investment opportunities, interest of investors and possibilities of the state to support them and initiative of regional self-government. Young people were interested in Slovak educational system and possibilities of our students to study abroad. Guests were interested also in Roma problems. President of KSR presented them the projects, which should improve the life of Roma people. While talking about relationship among churches and people of different confessions, Rudolf Bauer referred to the importance and initiatives of ecumenical community, which significantly helps the mutual understanding.
